The risk management of our bank, with a focus on ensuring the long-term safety and success of Bergos, is overseen by our Chief Risk Officer, Jürg Sonderegger. Sonderegger, who joined our bank in 2004 and has held the position of CRO since 2022, is responsible for the identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks, aiming to mitigate them through suitable risk management. In this role, the Swiss ensures the protection and promotion of the strength and robustness of our company.
Sonderegger, who graduated with an M.A. HSG in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in 1996, began his professional career as a senior consultant at a leading auditing and consulting firm. The Swiss national then moved to a leading software company as a controller before finally taking up his first position as Compliance Officer at a major Swiss bank. His years at a management consultancy specializing in the search for specialists and managers in the banking sector preceded his time at Bergos, which he joined as Compliance Officer in 2004. In addition to his main role as a Compliance Officer, he has gradually taken on additional responsibilities over the past 20 years. Currently, he oversees Compliance, Risk Control, Legal, Taxes, and Credit as the CRO, and also serves as the FATCA Responsible Officer (FATCA RO) and Security Officer at Bergos
